Beaded Bead

Beaded bead

Today we'll cover a round bead with seed beads, and so make a beaded bead. There are many different ways of making beaded beads, but we will use, perhaps, the easiest one.

We will need:
- a round bead 8 mm in diameter;
- czech seed beads size 10;
- thin nylon fishing line (0,2 mm in diameter) and a beading needle.

Take a line of 80 cm long, pass it through the eye of a needle and string onto it a round bead. Place the bead at a 5 cm distance from the free end of the line.

Tie together both ends of the line, making two tight knots one after another. Place the knots close to the hole of the bead.

We don't need the short end of the line anymore, so pass it through the hole of the bead

and trim it at the opposite hole.

Then string onto the line 8 seed beads

and pass the needle through the opposite hole of the round bead.

To be sure that seed beads lie close to the round bead, pass the needle again through all the seed beads.

Then tighten the line

and again pass the needle through the hole of the round bead,

thus leading the line to that hole, from which we started weaving.

All the next rows make the similar way, changing only the quantity of seed beads in the rows.

For the 2nd row string 5 seed beads,

pass the needle through the opposite hole of the round bead

and then again pass the needle through all the seed beads.

After that tighten the line

and again pass the needle through the hole of the round bead,

thus leading the line to the hole, from which we started weaving.

Keep on weaving. The 3rd row consists of 8 seed beads.

The 4th row consists of 5 seed beads.

The 5th row consists of 8 seed beads.
The 6th row consists of 5 seed beads.
The 7th row consists of 8 seed beads.
The 8th row consists of 5 seed beads.

The 9th row consists of 8 seed beads.
The 10th row consists of 5 seed beads.
The 11th row consists of 8 seed beads.
The 12th row consists of 5 seed beads.

Weaving is almost completed, but there is still a small space between the rows.

To cover that space, make the last - 13th - row. It consists of 4 seed beads.

Weaving is completed. To secure the line, pass it one or two times through the rows of seed beads and through the round bead’s hole. After that just cut off the excess line.

The beaded bead is finished!

You can use such beaded beads in various beaded jewelry or, for example, as the base for many beaded items.

    1. Yes, you may use embroidery thread. Every type of thread has its own features. In some beadworks different threads are non-interchangeable but in this beaded bead you may use the thread you prefer to work with.
