Bracelet in marine blue colors

Bracelet in marine blue colors

Today we will make another bracelet out of round beads and seed beads.
We will need:
- round beads of marine blue color: large, 8 mm in diameter, and small, 4 mm in diameter,
- size 10 seed beads of white color,
- nylon thread and two beading needles,
- clasp for a bracelet.

Step 1:
Take a nylon thread with needles at both its ends. For a medium-sized bracelet you will need a thread 130 cm long. String onto the thread four small round beads and one large round bead. Place the set of beads on the middle of the thread so that the large bead is at the right-hand side and the small beads are at the left-hand side.

Cross the right needle through the extreme left small bead.

Tighten the thread and place the set of beads so that the small beads lie above the large bead and the ends of the thread are directed upwards and downwards.

Step 2:
String one large round bead onto the upper end of the thread and three small round beads onto the lower end of the thread.

Cross the upper needle through the last added small bead.

Tighten the thread. The small beads have lain below the large bead.

Step 3:
String three small round beads onto the upper end of the thread and one large round bead onto the lower end of the thread.

Cross the lower needle through the last added small bead.

Tighten the thread. The small beads have lain above the large bead.

Next, repeat Steps 2 and 3 as many times as it is needed to get the bracelet of the required length. Do not forget to pull the thread tight after the each step.
For my bracelet I used 17 large round beads in all.

Weaving of the bracelet’s base is completed. Now we need to decorate it with white seed beads. Choose the end of the thread that is directed to the side of the small beads. Continue weaving using only this end of the thread. The other end of the thread will be used at the final stage of weaving, for attaching a clasp.

So, Step 4:
String 5 white seed beads.

We need these seed beads to lie above the next small round bead. Thus skip the nearest small round bead and pass the needle through the next two small round beads (the 3rd and the 4th, if we count from the end of the bracelet).

Step 5:
Pass the needle through the next small round bead in the bracelet. We need this step to provide symmetry to further weaving.

Step 6:
String 5 white seed beads.

Skip the nearest small round bead and pass the needle through the next two small round beads.

Tighten the thread.

Then repeat Step 6 till the end of the bracelet.

The bracelet is almost completed. We only need to attach clasps at its both ends.

To attach a clasp, first string 5 white seed beads

and pass the needle through the last small round bead, from its reverse side.

Then pass the needle through the nearest 3 of just added white seed beads.

After that put a clasp onto the thread and pass the needle from the reverse side through the seed bead from which the thread comes out at the moment.

Tighten the thread.

Secure the thread by passing it through beads into the middle part of the bracelet. Then tie a knot and trim the excess thread.

In the same way attach another clasp at the other end of the bracelet.

The bracelet is finished!

P.S. Using similar technique, you can also make earrings and thus get a beaded jewelry set.
