Bracelet of large round beads in green colors
Today we will make a bracelet out of large round beads of two sizes and seed beads.
We will need:
- round beads of two sizes: large, 16 mm in diameter, and small, 12 mm in diameter,
- size 8 seed beads,
- nylon fishing line 0.3 mm in diameter and two beading needles,
- clasp for a bracelet.
All the beads in my bracelet are of different shades of green.
At first, we will weave the base of the bracelet using the beading technique that is a kind of RAW, and then we will decorate this base with crossing segments of seed beads.
Take a fishing line with needles at both its ends. For a medium-sized bracelet you will need a line approximately 1.9 m long.
Step 1:
String onto the line 6 seed beads, then pick up a clasp and 5 more seed beads. Place the set on the middle of the line.
Take the needle from the side of a fewer number of seed beads and cross it through the extreme opposite seed bead.
Step 2:
Take any end of the line and string onto it 6 seed beads and 1 large round bead. Then string 6 seed beads onto the other end of the line and after that cross this end of the line through the last added large round bead.
Step 3:
Take any end of the line and string onto it 1 seed bead, 1 small round bead, again 1 seed bead and 1 large round bead. Next, string 1 seed bead, 1 small round bead and 1 more seed bead onto the other end of the line and after that cross this end of the line through the last added large round bead.
Tighten the line.
Next, repeat Step 3 as many times as it is needed to get the bracelet of the required length. Do not forget to tighten the line after the each step.
For my bracelet I used 8 large round beads.
Step 4:
Now attach another clasp. Take any end of the line and string onto it 12 seed beads, then pick up a clasp and 5 more seed beads.
After that cross the same end of the line through the 7th seed bead of just added seed beads (if we count from the bracelet).
Next, string onto the same end of the line 6 seed beads and cross this end of the line through the last large round bead in the bracelet.
Tighten the line.
Now it’s time to decorate the bracelet with crossing segments of seed beads. Before you proceed, choose the front side of the bracelet (because you should decorate just this side). It is especially important if the clasps of the bracelet have a different look from different sides.
Step 5:
Take any end of the line and string onto it 7 seed beads. Then string 6 seed beads onto the other end of the line and after that cross this (second) end of the line through the last added seed bead at the first end of the line.
Step 6:
Take any end of the line, string onto it 6 seed beads and then pass this end of the line through the next large round bead in the bracelet.
After that string 6 seed beads onto the other end of the line and then pass it through the same large round bead in the bracelet (from its other side).
Next, repeat Steps 5 and 6 till the end of the bracelet.
Weaving is almost completed. Before you secure the ends of the line it's desirable to weave one more time the full path through the entire bracelet (i.e. through all the round beads, seed beads and clasps) to make it more hardwearing.
After that secure the ends of the line: lead one end of the line close to the other, then tie a knot or two and trim the excess ends of the line.
The bracelet is finished!
