Earrings of seed beads and round beads with a metal connector as the basis
To make a pair of these simple earrings we will need:
- two metal connectors with two eyelets at the top and seven eyelets at the bottom of antique bronze color;
- eight round beads of white color 6 mm in diameter;
- six round beads of golden color 8 mm in diameter;
- size 6/0 seed beads of amber color;
- two size 8/0 seed beads of amber color;
- two ear wires of golden color;
- nylon thread of a light color with a beading needle.
For the base of the earring I used a metal connector with two eyelets at its top and seven eyelets at its bottom.
To the each eyelet at the bottom of the connector we need to attach a pendant of beads. The each pendant consists of size 6/0 seed beads and one round bead (we will alternate different round beads in adjacent pendants).
First, make the outermost pendant at any side of the connector. Take a nylon thread 50 cm long without a needle, pass it through the outermost eyelet and equalize the ends of the thread so that they are of the same length.
Then pass both ends of the thread through the eye of a needle and string onto it 5 seed beads, 1 white 6 mm round bead and 1 more seed bead.
Hold the last added seed bead and pass the needle backwards through the round bead and all the next seed beads.
Then pass the needle through the eyelet,
pull the thread and again pass the needle through the seed beads, further through the round bead and the last seed bead in the pendant.
Now secure the thread. Pass it through the round bead and further through one or two seed beads,
then pull the thread (be careful and do not pull it too tight, so that the pendant can dangle under its own weight) and tie a knot around the pendant’s axis.
After that pass the thread through one or two seed beads in direction to the connector, thus hiding the knot and preventing it from untying.
Now trim the thread. One pendant is finished.
In a similar way make one after another all the other pendants.
For the 2nd pendant string onto the thread 5 seed beads, 1 golden 8 mm round bead and 1 more seed bead.
For the 3rd pendant string onto the thread 6 seed beads, 1 white round bead and 1 seed bead.
For the 4th (central) pendant string onto the thread 7 seed beads, 1 golden round bead and 1 more seed bead.
All the next pendants make symmetrical with respect to the center one, in the reverse order.
For the 5th pendant string onto the thread 6 seed beads, 1 white round bead and 1 seed bead.
For the 6th pendant string onto the thread 5 seed beads, 1 golden round bead and 1 seed bead.
For the last - 7th - pendant string onto the thread 5 seed beads, 1 white round bead and 1 seed bead.
Now attach an ear wire. As we have two eyelets at the top of the connector, we must first attach a size 6/0 seed bead between these eyelets. Next, directly above this seed bead attach one more seed bead of a smaller - 8/0 - size.
Then take an ear wire. I used “kidney shape” ear wires. These ear wires are perfect for our earrings: they are made of single pieces of wire and due to their shape they can be easily attached to the earrings. Also, they have hook clasps and thus they are kept securely in the ears.
So, just insert the ear wire into the top seed bead of the earring till this seed bead is located in the deepening at the bottom of the ear wire. The earring is finished!
The same way make another earring to get a set of earrings.
