Goat in right angle weave

 A 3D goat beaded in right angle weave

Today we will make a three-dimensional goat in the technique of right angle weave.
We will need the following materials:
- size 8/0 seed beads of four colors: the main color for the head, neck, body and legs (I made a few goats of different colors; a white one looks pretty good, but for the tutorial I chose seed beads of blue color to get contrastу photos), black color for the eyes and hooves, gray color for the horns and one red bead for the nose;
- a filler for the head and body (there are plenty different fillers: sintepon, holofiber, cotton wool, etc.; you can use any kind of filler you've got available);
- fishing line 0.3 мм (you may use any kind of thread for beadweaving you prefer to work with) and two beading needles.

‘Pearls among hearts’ necklace

‘Pearls among hearts’ necklace

Thinking of the next beading tutorial, I wanted to embody a few ideas in a single item:
- at first, I wanted to make a beaded item for Valentine’s Day,
- at second, I wanted to make an item of beaded jewelry and most of all, a necklace,
- at third, that beaded item should be quite simple and shouldn’t need complicated weaving techniques and a large variety of materials,
- at fourth, despite of the above mentioned simplicity that beaded item should be original, elegant and attractive.

As a result, I made a necklace with heart-shaped elements and pearl beads. I called it the ‘Pearls among hearts’ necklace.

To make this necklace I used the beading technique of cubic right angle weave (CRAW) and a very simple range of materials:
- red color Czech seed beads of two sizes: 10/0 and 8/0,
- 10 mm pearl beads of white color,
- clasp for a necklace,
- nylon fishing line 0.2 mm thick and one or two beading needles (depends on the stringing method you use for making CRAW).

- beads of three colors (I used size 8 seed beads of green, yellow and yellowish-green colors);
- two round beads (I used 4 mm round beads of marine blue color);
- nylon fishing line and two beading needles (I used fishing line 0.3 mm in diameter).

Basics of Right Angle Weave. Part 2: weaving connecting elements in the flat right angle weave

Basics of Right Angle Weave: connecting elements

We continue learning flat right-angle weave (RAW) stitch. In the previous tutorial we wove a beaded fabric and today we will learn how to make connecting elements using this fabric as the base.

We will need the same materials which were used in the previous tutorial:
- seed beads (I used size 8 seed beads);
- nylon fishing line and two beading needles (I used fishing line 0.3 mm in diameter).

Basics of Right Angle Weave. Part 1: weaving a flat beaded fabric

Basics of Flat Right Angle Weave

We continue learning beading techniques. Today we will learn Right-Angle Weave stitch, also known as RAW. It is a bead weaving technique in which beads are stitched together with thread only making right angle turns. There are different kinds of RAW, such as flat right angle weave, tubular right angle weave and cubic right angle weave. At first, we will learn the basic kind of this stitch, flat right angle weave, and make a beaded fabric using this technique.

We will need:
- seed beads (I used size 8 seed beads);
- nylon fishing line and two beading needles (I used fishing line 0.3 mm in diameter).
